A lot has changed since I was adopted in the 50’s, now the adoption industry offers many choices to biological parents.
Safe-haven laws (also known in some states as “Baby Moses laws”, in reference to the religious scripture) are statutes in the United States that decriminalize the leaving of unharmed infants with statutorily designated private persons. Now moms can drop off their babies at police stations, fire stations and hospitals with no question. The child becomes a ward of the state. The turn around time for these babies being adopted can take up to a year.
***There is good news! You can contact An Angel’s Choice Adoption Agency at 501-615-3094 and drop your baby off with NO judgement or unnecessary questions. Your baby can go into the loving arms of adoptive parents. Not the state! We have parents willing and waiting.
Every prospective adoptive parent must have a current Home Study. A Home study is very invasive for parents to go through including:
Review of their home
Background checks and much more!
Types of Adoptions:
Least open adoptions: You will get a chance to read several adoptive parent’s profiles and pick the one that meets your desire for your baby. You will not know their names. You can receive pictures and updates often.
More open adoptions: You will have the opportunity to look at adoptive parent’s profiles, talk with them over the phone via conference call and exchange first names. After delivery, you can continue to have conference calls with the adoptive parents, monitored by your Adoption Coordinator.
Even more open adoptions: You can meet the potential adoptive family. Your coordinator will arrange a meeting between you both. This will allow you to have a face to face experience with the family. You can get to know them a little more intimately. After delivery you can set up social media with one another to allow you to watch your baby grow.
Very open adoptions: You will share all personal information after delivery of the baby. You will stay in contact with the family, and your child, over throughout life by calling, texting, writing, Skyping and possibly even visiting.
Most open adoptions mean you can be a big part of your child’s family. Its your choice!
